I’m Dr. Brittany Murphy, and I’m passionate about therapy with women who are battling perfectionism, stress, and compassion fatigue.
My core values are connection, integrity, learning, success, and wellness.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is key to good outcomes in counseling, and I can only achieve those through integrity, which means being myself openly and honestly in the service of authentic connection.
You'll see my love for learning in how often I share books, podcasts, videos, and other resources as additional ways to help.
I think it's no coincidence that my values of success and wellness have led me to being a therapist because, in this field, they are one and the same; you moving further on your journey to wellness is our measure of success.
I believe that you don’t have to be sick to get better. Counseling is for everybody, and we all can benefit from it for different reasons at different times in our lives.
All identities, experiences, and perspectives are welcome in my office. I want to understand everything that makes you you, and if I’m not familiar with an aspect of your life, part of my job is to do my own work to learn so that I can best help you.
Sometimes it can be helpful to work with somebody similar to you, so if you are looking for somebody who has experienced life as a woman, sister, daughter, wife, mother, friend, therapist, and/or professor, I might be a good fit for you!

A PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision provided me with additional clinical knowledge to enhance my own skills as well as specific training on teaching counseling classes and concepts to others. I believe in professional development, and this degree equipped me to guide the new and fellow therapists to enhance their knowledge and abilities. As a result, I can see clients, provide licensure supervision, and teach. It’s a great mix for me!
